Earth's rotation. Earth rotates (spins) on its axis and completes one rotation in 24 hours.
There is an imaginary line through the center of the Earth called the axis. The axis extends from north to south. The axis is at a tilt of 23.5 degrees.
The Earth moves around its own axis from West to East (anti-clockwise).
It takes 24 hours, a day, to complete one rotation.
This movement causes the alternation of day and night. The Earth's axis is tilted at an angle of about 23.5º
