The sun is actually white, not yellow

The sun is actually white, not yellow 🌞✨

Sunlight appears yellow from Earth because Earth's atmosphere scatters shorter wavelengths of light (like blue and violet) 🔵, leaving the longer wavelengths of yellow, orange, and red 🟡🟠🔴 to reach our eyes. When viewed from space 🚀 or without atmospheric interference, the sun is seen as a brilliant white light because it emits all colors of the visible spectrum in nearly equal amounts 🌈, and when mixed, they produce white.

Why the sun is white:
The sun emits all colors of the rainbow 🌈. When all these colors of light combine, they create white light ⚪.

Why the sun appears yellow:
When sunlight travels through Earth's atmosphere 🌍, air molecules scatter the blue and violet light more than the other colors. This scattering is what makes the sky appear blue 💙. Because some of the blue light has been scattered away, the light that reaches our eyes is shifted towards yellow and red 🟡🔴, making the sun look yellow or orange, especially during sunrise and sunset 🌅.

Evidence:
• Pictures from space: Images of the sun from space 🛰️, where there is no atmosphere to scatter the light, show it as white ⚪.
• Total solar eclipses: Astronauts and observers during a total solar eclipse 🌑 can see the sun's true white color.
